<p>[QUOTE="verybrad, post: 91601, member: 37"]Never got caught up in collecting things made to be collectible. I do look out for such things I can make some money on. Last year I attended an auction from a woman's estate that had thousands of collector plates. Everything went for pennies on the dollar. Some people were snapping up the Norman Rockwell plates. I hope they were for themselves. I bought the 12 <i>Beauties of the Red Mansion</i> series and the Imperial carnival glass <i>12 days of Christmas </i>plates.</p><p><br /></p><p>This is not mine but made similar money on my Beauties set .....</p><p><br /></p><p><a href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Imperial-Jingdezhen-BEAUTIES-of-the-RED-MANSION-PLATES-Complete-Set-12-COA-FShip-/221923260213?hash=item33aba83735%3Ag%3ATl8AAOSwAYtWLV7~&nma=true&si=Ep7696JKqBfHmTRt1Nt9%252BnDXMlU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Imperial-Jingdezhen-BEAUTIES-of-the-RED-MANSION-PLATES-Complete-Set-12-COA-FShip-/221923260213?hash=item33aba83735%3Ag%3ATl8AAOSwAYtWLV7~&nma=true&si=Ep7696JKqBfHmTRt1Nt9%252BnDXMlU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557" rel="nofollow">http://www.ebay.com/itm/Imperial-Jingdezhen-BEAUTIES-of-the-RED-MANSION-PLATES-Complete-Set-12-COA-FShip-/221923260213?hash=item33aba83735:g:Tl8AAOSwAYtWLV7~&nma=true&si=Ep7696JKqBfHmTRt1Nt9%2BnDXMlU%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Seems the carnival glass plates are not faring as well as they were last year.
