Mansons, don't worry about the abundance of photos. After all, I imagine I'm not the only one thinking Brad would be in hog heaven polishing up "ALL" of the items even if they're duplicates. Hey, he volunteered that he likes to polish silver. :hilarious:

Dunno if Brad likes to polish silver, but it was Greg who offered. ;) Personally, I'll let Greg do the polishing and sneak away with the tapestry/wall-hanging in the dining room... :beaver::shifty::p

    Brad, sorry about that. :shame:

    Thanks, Kentworld.

I love to polish silver :p. Mansions,a man after my heart. I have a hoard of silverplate and china too. Mine are all in containers since this house is too small to display so I plan on listing most.......someday ;) I still love your sitting room with all the books and comfy looking easy chairs.

    >I have the same two baskets<

Elarnia, I have one also, but mine is more rectangular shape. Looks like Mansons has some also - his 1st pic. Sorry, Mansons, I pass on a weekend at your place. I have had tooooooo many years of polishing and well certainly not voluntarily or for pay do anyone else's!!!! :arghh::banghead:

Our wire bread basket was a wedding gift, 1966. It is by the same "PM" company as the one on that site; however, ours is marked differently. Ours is marked only with "Made PM Italy." The PM logo in the middle is very small. The logo is a large P over a small "m." The original sticker on the bottom is silver with blue printing. It has a stylized large P on top of a stylized smaller M. The right side of the P's loop is rubbed off. Around the sticker is "Quality Silverplated Italy." I think ours has an anti-tarnish finish. I doubt if we have used it even a half dozen times. It does look good with a lush white napkin, insert, with breads or rolls peeking out on the table or sideboard with all the silver in use.

There are a multitude of these wire silverplated bread baskets on the web with Italy the country of origin for them all.

I love my wire baskets,so handy to hold bisquits and rolls :) Of course I line the basket in a paper napkin first :bucktooth:

The wire baskets were big in the 60's. Aside from their intended use, they make excellent decorations. They can be filled with Christmas balls, laced with red ribbons, and then hung here and there.

I must admit I like to polish silver too, there is something very soothing about it and I love the sparkle in the end.:)
