[QUOTE="J Dagger, post: 7108600, member: 10944"]They have such a wild look, I fell in love with them. Bidding time came and I threw in what I thought was a strong one knowing someone someday would need them enough to pay enough more than me to make me a nice profit. Thought I’d get them. It went $100 over that and I bid again, but alas didn’t win. Maybe better because I’d probably never have sold them despite having absolutely no possible use for them. I’d love to find out what they actually were for though!? I keep picturing them atop a grand hutch or armoire or something. Not even sure how they be incorporated in that respect. Could be architectural elements. A gate or something maybe. I really don’t know. Maybe someone here will. Looks like the back “cap” was torn off the top back of one. About 17” long.

Edit: seller thought they were 20th c mimicking something older. I wasn’t totally convinced but never had them in hand and seller was pretty smart.
