I am tempering my excitement about this Wen Hua Shun Pewter and Ceramic Tea Set, because so much of Chinese work is reproduced. In my research I found a number of sites that date these sets at late 19th to early 20th century. They appear to come in black like my pieces or red. The bottoms have either Chinese characters and Shanghai China or an address at 190 North Gate, Weihaiwei City, which existed from 1898 until 1930. The designs include dragons and other symbols. Most describe the metal as pewter and some claim the clay is Yixing. Here is the set closest to mine and the link

https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11512190_390-chinese-wen-hua-shun-ceramic-and-pewter-tea-set

What do you think - Authentic or not?
