They would take the railroad up to a certain point and head on over to Coney Island for the day. The boats would drop folks off at the well known Iron Pier. The pier was also known for a tower where they would somehow get to the top with a horse and the horse would plunge off of it with the rider on its back into the water. In today&#039;s world this would definitely be closed because it was really cruelty to the horse. I just may have my timeline a little mixed up about the horses jumping.
