Wayang Golek puppet heads?

    I think India is more likely, judging from Indian puppet traditions and the strong Indian influence on Java.
    It is thought that Wayang Kulit (Purwa) and Wayang Klitik (flat wooden puppets) originated on Java. The body shapes certainly originated in East Java, and can be seen on ancient monuments as well.
    Wayang Golek copied the Wayang Kulit and Klitik body shapes, but made them 3 dimensional. It is clear the puppets were adapted for travel, they could be taken apart.
