Wax seal

An unrelated pic I just ran across on the web, felt compelled to share it somewhere:

Yeah, could be, Mr. K. BTW congrats on being the first to identify the imagery with animal protection.

If you should happen to find a similar image on anything but the watch fob, that's the one thing I'd still like to see. Hard to believe the seal is the sole example of that overly-busy allegory.

Seeing as how the seal was hand carved....maybe it is a one off ??
I'll keep lookin.....but don't want to end up like that photo !!! .....

 

My WAG on "why was this seal made" is that it may have been a reward token offered for donations to RSPCA of say over 100 L sterling. The org looks like it is very aggressive at fundraising, and might have been doing something like PBS TV stations do during "special" programs-offer some kind of program-related stuff.

Here whenever the PBS affiliate reruns the 9000-hour segments on the history of Blenko Art Glass, each segment is punctuated by one-hour testimonials by faintly well-known but bored people, standing before dozens of volunteers in a rather quiet phone bank, trying to act excited about how contributors can get their very own limited-edition of a Blenko glass piece, and better pieces for higher donations.

RSPCA may have advertised such a campaign in print news media since I'm sure the fob was made long before TV.

 

I'd be looking at seals of noble houses or towns in Wales to see if it's a family or city crest.
