    Yes, I am.:)

They were probably made in neighbouring Cambodia as well, which would explain the Indochina attribution. The two countries share many cultural influences and imagery. Borders are never as rigid as they look on the map.
Buddhism can have some extremely fierce looking beings as well. In Southeast Asia Buddhism has Hindu elements mixed in, as well as pre-Hindu-Buddhist elements. Demonic looking beings are generally protective. They will scare the bad guys of.;)

Yes, Agreed, in the same vein as Gargoyles on Medieval churches, meant to keep evil out!!
How much do you think my Cuff is worth around? someone told me around 120$ another said 300$ or more depending on the buyer.
Also what time period would this be from, i figured maybe an early example from Indochina, i think because there is no " Fait en Indochine" engraved on it...which to me would of been added when they became popular in the late 30's before WWII....Just an opinion i am probably a little way off on this.

Difficult to say, it is best to look for others for sale. I'd guess 300 is closer.
These generally date from the late 19th to the early 20th century.
Dating by the lack of 'fait en Indochine' is risky. If it is Thai made it wouldn't have 'fait en Indochine' engraved on it, since Thailand was never colonized by France or any other European nation.;) Cambodia was colonized by France, but not all Cambodian makers marked their silver.

Thanks so much for all the added info Any Jewelry, yes it is very hard to date like you mentioned because of the lack of any markings.
I tend to veer towards early 20th on this one, when did they stop manufacturing these in Asia? when did they fall out of love for these pieces in Europe...sorry for asking so many questions, i am a very curious individual Ha! Ha!

I don't think they were ever fashionable in Europe, that was just a bit of a joke because Bronwen had mistaken 'pairs' for Paris.;)
They would have been bought by French colonials and tourists though, as well as local people of means. They are still bought by collectors.
I don't know when they stopped making them. The period generally given is late 19th - early 20th. Without anything to prove the exact date, it is safest to stick to that imo.
Questions are fine, that is what a forum is for.:)

    Welcome here, Nick72:)
I was thinking too Indochina, this illegible tiny mark on your cuff made me think of my buckle bracelet, mine is marked silver in oval tiny mark, beside Indochina in a tiny rectangle.
There is too a very tiny maker's mark A /oak leaf or Lorraine cross/ D.
    Inside engraved Silver French Indochina in script. Resized_20190415_142358001.jpeg Resized_20190415_142416002.jpeg Resized_20190415_142643002.jpeg 20190415_142736001.jpeg 20190415_142449001.jpg

Very Nice Kyra, beautiful craftsmanship on that Buckle!! seen a few of these before, yours has the full markings so probably easier to date and even find the maker.
    Thanks for sharing ;)!!

Should i get this cleaned-up, i passed a shammy cloth on it, obviously it removed not much of the grime in the creases that are below the protruding surfaces or is it better to keep the original patina and dirt, i have often heard cleaning those old Pieces is not the best way to go.
Your Buckle piece Kyra seems very clean compared to mine.

I usually soak my old silver in soapy water first. Since your cuff is double layered, best to check it for any holes around the edges where water could seep in. It looks all right from here, but you have it with you.
After that a silver polish cloth should suffice.
Will you show us the result?:)

As AJ said, soapy water with soft toothbrush to get rid of the grime in the crevices, then insist with sunshine cloth or similar to fully polish the protruding parts and leave the patina to show the details.
I hate old ornate silver full of dried silver polish, or worse, dipped in tarnish remover and all white...
