Well, both of them ARE stunning pieces!!! When you get home, am hoping you can get a couple of as straight on as you can, clear, close images that we can try to identify for you!!!!! GREAT suggestion from @scoutshouse to stabilize your hands/arms when taking close-ups!! Good luck!!:):):)

    Hey, @Alis

In the future, pls don't hold back on any details you know about your items... there are people here (not necessarily me) much better informed than you might imagine.

    Thanks for those clear images!

Yes, the rhinoceros mark was used on gold as a secondary mark for chains or for piece's wheight:)
    "Rhinocéros 1
Poinçons de Remarque qui servent à marquer les chaînes pleines fabriquées à Paris de 10 en 10 cent. et figurant aussi dans les combinaisons de la marque au poids"

For the maker's mark, I read Sté for "Société", equivalent of Co for Company
    C (a hedgehog?) H :cyclops:

Have to find a French maker named "hérisson" (hedgehog):playful:

    Absolutely gorgeous, Alis, thank you.
    I guess one person's sun is another person's hedgehog.:hilarious: I have always been a bit of a romantic....:shame:

From now on hedgehogs will be known as little stinking suns.:playful:
