Those crosses were bought on the feast day of St John, hence the name croix Jeannette (John = Jean), without the "à la". It is a French cross style. I notice the Belgians have added à la, but that is not the original name.</p><p><br /></p><p>I have been wondering about the configuration, btw, with the butterfly as central element below the round element. You only see that in earrings of the period, imo.</p><p>I have been browsing through my 'bible' of Dutch period jewellery ("Juwelen en mensen" by M.H.
