Thank you for replying. I knew you'd know, and guessed you'd have one too, you lucky girl. Talk about lucky, I am still in a state of shock that Kiko scored one for $27. Even if you disregard the name, there is some real value there. The Tommy Singer necklace on Poshmark is sold. Pity, I looked at it again to see if they shipped to the EU. They don't anyway, so I'll just have to wait for a $27 dollar one overhere.
A friend has a long beauty in sodalite in his store. I look at it every time I’m in there as he’ll never sell it-he’s got it at $800! I paid $275 for mine and really didn’t want to pay that much.
Many makers use those pre-made cones. It doesn't bother me, as long as they use them well in a good, harmonious design.
Wow. Is that green turquoise? He had such an eye for combinations of materials. I loved how he said each piece had to represent something to him. You can see it in the gorgeous necklace you have. He predominated it with green with the barest of accents. Thank you for sharing your piece. Your confirmation, as well as AJ's makes me very happy.
Yes. I too appreciate you responding. The people at the store get tons of jewelry. They have someone who prices them who is more attracted to modern pieces. Ethnic pieces are not looked at, at all. That's how I got the Clark Couyancy cuff for next to nothing.
Sodalite. I love that heavenly blue. I have a big chunk of it in my rock cases. Those who know appreciate.
Yes. I see his wife Rose is carrying on his tradition. He was in his 70s when he died. He may have thought spending time on findings wasn't worth the effort to make them. I don't know.
The stone necklaces are wonderful and have become collectible but they were never high end pieces. I love mine but I know it’s not a serious piece. The new ones are junk even though they’re legally Tommy Singer. My best piece is a large chip squash by his brother William.
Yes. I understand that he is much praised for his early work and his creation of chip jewelry. I realize that the necklaces are just amalgamations, but the eye and in selecting and placing the beads is wonderful.
