    Welcome Matt ! In the future,feel free to post any (& ALL) pertinent photos-markings,stamps,engravings,signatures.The more info our diligent antique detectives have,the better to supply you with provenance & of course (this will be yr job) any guess at value.
    More pics means you won't have to keep yanking yr phone 5 more times !

    A quick way to do family research is to register on familysearch.org. It's the Latter-day Saint's genealogy web site and there is no charge to use. Caveat: A lot of the research one finds on sites like this is sloppy but... you're only looking for a surname and may be a short cut for you.

    I'd bet on it being someone's maiden name. Ladies who bought or made linens and silverware before they married had it emboidered with their last initial at the time. My grandmother had napkins and a tablecloth with an F on them, for her maiden name.
