I would also try RAgos auctions. you can find a link on their website and send pictures. They have always responded to me very quickly, and they are in NJ. They will reply with an answer and an estimate, and possibly an upcomming auction they would put it in. Let them know that yore friend is interested in selling it.

Me, me! I had to reread this query to see what part of the South referred to. Ohhhh, she's from Mississippi!!! Sue, give her a "Hey" from a fellow Mississippian. As to an auction house down here, I really haven't a clue to a good one. I know there are a few in Memphis, but none of any high quality. No doubt there are some in New Orleans. If she is from the lower 1/2 of Mississippi, New Orleans would only be a hop and a skip away. Other locations would be Atlanta, Dallas, possibly St. Louis and maybe Mobile, AL. I'm just not up on auction houses south of the Mason-Dixon.

I know there are some here from the Nashville, TN area, GA and AL. They probably are more familiar with creditable auction houses south of the Mason-Dixon than me. I probably should have use "than I." Gee, I always have a problem using the word "than." Some say it is always a preposition, and others say sometimes it is a conjunction. If a preposition, "me" should be used. If a conjunction in this instance, "I" should be used.

I agree with Terry, the the northeast might be her best bet.

    Hi,
For better than good but not as good as incredible. I would contact Doyles in NYC. I have gotten nice prices from them in the past.

One of the best in that area would be Neal's Auction in New Orleans.

I think if you had posted this in antiques, you would get more responses. I know I hardly ever visit this thread due to lack of interest. I do have interest in Tiffany and would have responded had I seen this.

This is a very nice piece and I have no reason to doubt authenticity. I am not sure that it is really worth sending to auction since the best houses have minimums for acceptance and the fees are high. I think you could probably do as well on ebay. That said, The suggestion of Neals In NO is a good one. I don't know much about Doyles but it is probably good as well. I would think Skinners would be good if they would accept it.
