Yes, that's another issue, falling in love with an object and not researching whether what they "think" it is VS what it is exactly.
Tough to be disciplined in matters of the heart, no getting round that.

Absolutely. The repros are collectible, too.

That’s why I only buy things that I like so if they’re not valuable or even if the reproductions I still like them

Most recent boo-boo, I bought a Roseville pot that turned out to be a repro. We all live and learn!

I bought a Salvador Dali etching titled “Paranoic Village”, paid $270. Turns out it is documented in the catalog of Dali’s graphic works as a fake. This gave it some collectibility as a known fake. I sold it for $410, however my wife is still mad at me 15 years later for selling it . That is my punishment.

You can do your "due diligence" or buy an education. May all my "educations " be under $25. We could have a laughing and weeping website on this topic.

I resemble that remark ! Except I wont spend $100 ! Not that I wouldnt, but my income is limited so I have to be very careful. Besides, its much more satisfying buying for a $1 and finding out its worth much more. :)

    Yeah, I heard that!:singing:
I was referring to the folks who float thru the furniture forum with a piece they "think" is very valuable only to discover it is not.
