NO! this past Jan at the American sales in NYC, I absolutely positively STOLE that table! and, am happy as larry about it! :cigar:
It was at the Vogel sale, fabulous early american furniture collection, a dozen or more 100k pieces, total collection value was something like 5 million.
All the snobs at that sale were looking at the BIG $$ pieces and because this table had a replaced top, they all turned their noses up at it.
FABULOUS provenance on this table, i was lucky to get it. Design wise it's the period just before william & mary, i think in england Charles II? Here it's just called "Pilgrim Century" as we frown on the king stuff. :hilarious:

@Illielee you should post your stuff post in furniture forum, you would get more replies, furniture kinda gets lost in here. I NEVER come here unless someone tags me for example.

And, the table i stole from the snobs is in fact a "Charles II" designed table and NOT william & mary. A main design feature of Charles is "Bobbin" turned legs/stretchers, william & mary is a whole "other" thing......dutch influenced for one thing, cyma curves, "trumpet" turned legs for another, X stretchers, just sayin........
A couple pics i lifted from Marhamchurch, 1 W&M, the others charles II

Sotheby's in NYC had no clue about my table, style was wrong, date was wrong, the only thing they did manage to get right was "rare", it is rare for American furniture for sure, very few of those tables survive over here. I am happy to have it, I SCORED!:p

Getting back to "Tavern" tables, this mid 18th century so called PA table could just as easily be VA. It was last sold at Northeast Auctions in 2004.
The important point here is, are these feet original to this table? are they turned as one piece with the leg? OR are they added to bottom of leg?
Waiting on answers to my inquiry about them but in enlarging pic, I'd guess they are one piece and were turned with the legs which means, original to the table.
I am a player if feet are original and the sale number is reasonable, keeping my powder dry $$ wise as Americana Week is right around the corner (Jan.) and, it's the most important week of the year early american furniture wise.

That's what it looks like to me.

I am thinking this table is VA, it's valuable and, it's gonna be like that Tea table a couple months back, HIDEOUSLY expensive.
One of the downsides of the internet antique wise is, very little falls thru the cracks these days as many more eyes are looking than before the internet age.

Take a look at escutcheon on this table which i have enlarged & lightened.
It's english made, early 18th century and Dutch inspired

At Optimum Brass in Devon UK (reproductions), not exact matches but pretty dang close
"This large engraved escutcheon is from an original coming from the same early 18th century chest (of Anglo-Dutch origin)"
