Featured Tavern Table

    Fast forward to this year at Pook & Pook, it suddenly became a "tea" table at pook and the lot was passed. Someone is gonna take a SERIOUS hair cut on this table if they want to sell it. This table is a very fine example but NOT 93k fine! More like 15-25k which was the original estimate back in 2003.

    Here are a few highlights from the past 5-6 years tavern table wise

    This one i went after, top split in half, finish poor condition but the BONES were ALL THERE & i wanted it badly. Estimate $300-$500 sold for 21k

    Well I'm partial to the two round ones, but not because they're round.
    I like the finish on the first one, and I like the feet on the last.

    They are called "spanish feet" and difficult to do well, adding that "splay" angle makes it much more difficult.

    Thanks! Who knows, maybe those 1950s-60s folding metal TV tables will be worth something in 200 years! It could happen! :joyful:
