    If they did, then the reverse would also be true: they get saturated with moisture when there's water in a vase or tea in a teapot

    Nice site man love the work that celadon dish looks lovely. My post is old I tend to stay away from straits due to prices being over retail even common dish. I really dig that site you created it?

    Yes. Thank you so much. You are right that Straits Chinese porcelain is simply not worth the prices they're fetching now, in addition to which there are so many fakes around you wouldn't believe. Some have goodheartedly tried to advise others but they refuse to listen, go off in a huff claiming that other "experts" have told them that the fakes are genuine antiques, and are never heard from again. Their loss!
