The assay office in Schoonhoven was closed and Arie Pluut silversmith, then also boss of Hooijkaas, tried to pressure assay office Waarborg Holland in Gouda to open a branch in Schoonhoven. To do so, if possible he went for assay in Joure. In 2003 Waarborg Holland in Gouda changed tack and opened another branch in Schoonhoven and Hooijkaas/Zilverstad again went to inspect in Schoonhoven.
