    Wow. That's beautiful, Sue!

Mid-40's and a brief afternoon "sun" reprieve from the thick fog from last night. It'll be back later and tomorrow, though. :(

Here is a photo of the back, and one of the cleaned-up mark.
The light is really bad at night, so sorry.

Congrats on the new car, Sue! Is the back seat big enough for the dog?

Don't be. The end of serious stress. Both of the old cars decided to kick the bucket about the same time. If it wasn't for the loan of one of my Dad's cars this last cpl of weeks, I would have been screwed.

I'd not say the early to mid 18th C date was impossible, or even unlikely. Even though the new pictures show a smooth profile.

It's a lancet (lanzett) style spoon, shouldn't date earlier than late 18th century, more common in the first half of the 19th century.

Thank you for the date range.
Still a lot older than I would have ever thought.
Too bad it's not worth much, and that it has some damage.

I have you know that my mother's rat's tail and dog nose surprise was much talked about in our town, when I were a lad.

I wouldn't think there was much meat on a rat tail. :)

Eee, lass, compared to the stewed gravel and dirt breadless sandwiches the poor folks ate, it were a real treat. But how we envied the rich folk who got to live in their own dustbins and eat whole rats.
