Souvenir alligator from Hot Springs Nat. Park - age?

    Just to add:

    The guy who owns the ones shown in that photo is apparently Larry Roberts of Roberts Antiques in Micanopy, a town near Gainesville, FL. He’s the author of Florida’s Golden Age of Souvenirs, 1890-1930.

    This could be as early as the 20s or as late as the 50s. These kind of things were made much the same for a lot of years. As you found, the same item was given different treatments depending on where the souvenir was from. By the 60s, this type of souvenir was made in cheaper ways.

    Thanks for finding that, Susan. I sure couldn't. LOL

    I am not surprised that it didn't sell.
    High priced - horrible shipping - never even dusted - carpy photos- etc.
    I tend to be a "bare bones" kind of writer when it comes to listings, but that was just awful.
