I go with the idea of tea strainer (bags?) perhaps missing or provide your own tray! That makes the most sense :cigar::cigar::cigar:

A tea strainer would be used to catch the loose leaves as the tea is poured from the pot and some can be quite shallow, they also sometimes have feet or a ring base to sit steady on a dish after use. If it's a tea strainer, haven't seen one quite like it before, though a leaf form was/is not uncommon - almost certainly Asian in origin...

Exactly. Tea strainers don't steep tea, that's an abomination. One makes tea in a pot, pours it into the cup, sans or avec strainer. Strainer catches leaves. I suspect this had a nice matching leaf shaped base to sit it on.

You have revealed my ignorance: I am a coffee drinker!

Btw, Asian also fits the "SILVER" mark from what I could find, which seemed to be common in Korea, but usually with other markings.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

How 'bout we say it's missing its silver saucer it's supposed to be sitting in and still go with 'used tea bag holder'!!!!!!!!!:singing::singing::singing::singing::):joyful::joyful::joyful:

I know nothing about tea, drink copious amounts of coffee (even roast & grind my own) a holdover from my past working life. Thanks all for the information and another piece into the hoard!:cigar::cigar::cigar:

Ummm, okay I'll bite - why would you need a strainer under a used tea bag?

This item is called tea leak, which drains tea and holds tea leaf on it.

The tea leak is mostly used in the first step of making tea which we called cleaning and soften process.
