Reverse: In the centre within a circle 'THE QUEENS CUP -- WINNERS 2nd Bn DEVONSHIRE REGt LIEUT. & QrMr. G.E.MITCHELL' with 'THE ARMY RIFLE ASSOCIATION' around the circumference.</p><p><br /></p><p>History / Summary</p><p>Won by Lieutenant & Quartermaster Mitchell for rifle shooting. George Edward Mitchell was born 1 October 1862. He served for 19 years 251 days in the ranks and 3 years 103 days as a Warrant Officer. He was commissioned Lieutenant Quartermaster on 20 September 1902, and honorary Captain (Quartermaster) on 20 September 1912. He retired from the Devonshire Regiment on 15 August 1914 after nearly 33 years service.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><ul> <li>The Queen Victoria Cup</li> </ul><p><br /></p><p>This statuette is a replica of the statuette of the Duke of Wellington (itself a copy of the Wellington Memorial in Aldershot), awarded by the Army Rifle Association from 1895 onwards.
