The shape is Middle Eastern, the clasp is European. Egypt has a strong Arab influence, even more so than the other North African countries.</p><p>Rope twist braiding (that&#039;s the term) is also often seen on Middle Eastern jewellery, also Bedouin, btw.</p><p>Czech glass is used a lot in the northern part of the Middle East, places like Syria, Kurdistan, Palestine/Israel.
