This is for you, Marko! And your great kimono find!
My sister-in-law has a kimono fetish... decorates with them, wears them... I did this painting for her to sorta tie all the colors together with her theme... she calls it her "funky geisha". The walls are blue... and red and white occur in almost all her kimonos, and the gold/green is the main accent color for enameled furniture. The black of the silhouette picks up on a lot of black enameled stuff. It's about 3 x 4 feet.
She owes me a margarita any time we go out.
Not everything I paint is Mexican.

 

I love it!!!! My sister-in-law was married to a man whose mother was a Japanese bride during WW II and she has a large collection of vintage Japanese dolls, glassware, anything Japanese.

Sometimes I get in a mood to make miniatures. This is my fantasy "Galeria Gila". There are teensy-weensy miniatures of my rack cards, actual paintings for sale on ebay and elsewhere, easel and supplies, hummingbird feeder, a cot on the back porch, an evaporative cooler, and a Chihuahua, and lots more stuff. Everything is made out of cardboard, toothpicks, stuff like that. The "building" is about 10 x 12 inches, maybe 8 inches tall.

Mostly when I paint or sketch, it's "X" rated and cannot be shown here...

 

Most of my paintings used to be quite large but I did do a small one recently.

 

I prefer to sketch and paint from real life and not from photographs.

If not from real life, then from my imagination..
