My local ReStore gets some nicer stuff in every so often, and you can bet they look it up and price accordingly. The really good stuff probably never hits the floor; it goes out to an auction or something similar. It happened right in front of my face today with some artwork donated by Otis Elevator. It was all office decoration, but some sold in the thousands originally. If they do it other thrifts do too, especially the Ill Will. (got Tiffany glass candlesticks in there today because they screwed up and didn't see the mark.)

Yes, the ReStore in my town gets some pretty good stuff too. They seem to have a deal with the local CB2 and get their slightly damaged items regularly. They also get some very expensive floor model light fixtures from a local retailer. And that William and Mary style chest I posted here last year was from a ReStore.

Mine gets the overruns too from assorted places. They tend to move quickly. They also got the Christmas decorations from a mall store that closed down. Can you say WHOOSH.

Yep, it's getting tougher out there, no doubt!
