Very sad, I wish I were alive to have seen it before it burned.

I think many were because the community was devastated by the loss of it.

There was an old "snow roller" like the one in the last photo, on display at the DMV in Concord, NH & State buildings on Hazen Drv.
I included a photo of the snow roller

If I could, I'd own a house in NJ or nearby but leave in winter.

New England winters can be rough, we have had snow twice in the past 4 days and we have a storm hitting today, supposed to get 20-36"

My aunt was born in 1898. She was a huge fan of the stars of the silver screen and sent away for many photos and autographs. My favorite is this one. She specifically left it to me when she passed. Witzel was photographer to the stars in those days. This is a gelatin silver print of William S. Hart. He was best friends with Wyatt Earp. Very interesting biography. IMG_3388 (600x800).jpg IMG_3387 (800x600).jpg

Well, they're not famous, but here are a couple of shots of family members. The first is a photo of my German gg-grandparents' family (taken before 1900, before my own grandmother was born) in front of their little grocery store on Melrose Ave in the Bronx:

And here's my gg-grandfather (from the photo above - the man with the mustache) when the family moved to CT in the nineteen-teens:

There was a long correspondence between Earp and Hart. The news of the day had begun to paint Earp as a loose cannon and wrote things about him, Doc Holiday and the others that were unsubstantiated and absolutely untrue in order to sensationalize their articles. Hart stood up for Earp. The Tombstone Historical Society has a lot of information.
