As I always state in my posts, I refinish furniture as hobby. I picked up a dresser for $2 at an estate sale. I always take before and after pictures and I noticed this furniture had a label. I love to know the history of pieces and when I searched on it I came up information on the label as well as a picture of a like dresser that just sold for over $400. I thought this was a cheaper pine dresser and was just going to strip it to see what it looks like. Question - for pieces like this, does stripping and refinishing lower the resale value? I know it depends on what someone wants/likes but I hate the thought of cheapening a piece. (Most of the people I offer things to want them painted anyways). I have added some pictures.
