So many of his paintings survive because so many tourists bought them and took them home. Many of his paintings were unsigned and most were in the exact same type of frame as that painting . I have one of a forest fire . They varied in size from small and painted on a redwood slab to living room sized large paintings . They varied in quality because towards the end of his life he was almost blind. His son was also a listed artist . He was a very good artist , some of the mountain scenes I have seen&nbsp; are wonderful.
