Hi all, I'm no antiques expert by any stretch of imagination, so I'd appreciate your help in identifying the piece shown in this photo. Not the best colour reproduction - it's slightly darker blue than this suggests. The piece is about 6 inches in height. The lid is hollow, can be removed and has holes aligned on its top and bottom surfaces. It's marked on the base as Royal Doulton, with "Willow" underneath the stamp, and a date mark indicating the year 1910. What I'd like to know is what this jar would have been used for. Is it (e.g.) a pot-pourri jar, or for floral displays, or what? And notice the stone-wall effect around the base, with ivy climbing up ... is that a standard pattern for a Willow item? I've been unable to find anything like this in my trawls around the web, so I'd be really grateful for any pointers you can offer. Thanks!
