The Martian is an O with a V on its top. So it looks like a martian

 

ΖΗΣ means 'life'. I don't know what that thing that looks like the symbol for the astrological sign Taurus is. Omicron with a diacritical mark?

 

There is no Martians in the Greek alphabet?

 

The engraver was trying for lower case triangle, but wrote lower case non-lunate sidewise double-U by accident, and changed the top. (It's a sigma drawn over a delta.)
