That is just so weird! Nobody can quite figure out how we ended up with that. My grandfather wasn't the Wooster type to be cheeky and pinch it (but he was the only one in England during that time) and our English family friends hadn't been made yet (and I checked but they didn't know if any coppers in the family). It's the oddest thing because nobody has a clue how it ended up here.

Nice translating! That's a fun party mug. I'm hoping to use it tomorrow!

I found these and emailed an antique money specialist in town since there's a range in value on the top one depending on condition and I don't want to ship them.
Martha Washington silver dollar bill series 1891 Rosecrans
Also a 10 cent bill series 1874 (ripped)
25 cent fractional currency bill series 1874

    An autographed photo.

And a ton of stamps & books. Busy time, almost getting to the point of not being surrounded by boxes!

Thank you, I am rubbish with sports! I'll look into it and see what I can do.

It could have been signed later. Both my father and grandfather would keep things and then take them to signings. I know they liked doing it with game programs especially. Nobody was big into NFL so this autograph surprised me. There's a lot of other sports memorabilia somewhere, but this photo was tucked between the pages of a book so it popped up randomly.

Hello Just, we just today ran across this website and this particular discussion, and we'll identify your games for you.

Nathan is correct with his ID of Big League Electric Baseball by the Electric Game Company. Always flattering to have one's work referenced, but -- just us, maybe -- we think actual citations of other people's research are not just appreciated but also common courtesy. Had our website and forum been cited, you could have had all your answers much more quickly. We're at
    http://baseballgames.dreamhosters.com/
if you have any follow-up questions!

The second game above is "Lucky 7th" Baseball Game, originally published in 1937 by All-American Games Co and soon thereafter by Ray-Fair.

The football game shown last is the somewhat rare Howard H. Jones Collegiate Football Game, produced in about 1932 by Municipal Services Corp., Ltd. More information on that one can be found here:
    https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/27564/new-howard-h-jones-collegiate-football-game

All three games, of course, would have substantially more market value were they complete with their boxes and game parts, but at the very least they all make for nice display pieces.
We hope that's of some help!

Sorry about that. I usually post links to full websites I have no idea why I chose to post a cropped photo. Sorry about that @BaseballGames

All's cool. Thanks for the welcome!
Wish there was a forum section here devoted specifically to antique toys and games... would such a thing be of sufficient interest to anyone here besides us?

I would like an Asian art forum, but no go. So I'm afraid it will be the same for antique toys and games.
You could start a toys and games thread and see if people want to treat it like a separate forum. We have a cameo thread like that.

Hi Any, thanks for the suggestion. We discovered this forum just this weekend while on one of our intermittent searches for on-line antique-games discussion boards. There's literally nothing out there besides our own very narrowly-focussed forum (anyone here who's into antique tabletop sports games, or just has a random question about one, is more than welcome to join us). We may try starting a focussed toys/games thread a little ways down the road, but we just got here and don't want to come off like the bull in a china shop...

BG, don't worry about that! There are SO many different areas of interest on this board that another "rather specific" one is not a problem, in the least!

There are also a number of people who simply buy "interesting stuff" - either to keep, or to sell - and the variety of that "stuff" is practically infinite. In addition, most of the regulars here always like to learn about new things - so, please, post away!

I agree with SBS, a toys and games thread is no problem at all. You never know, it could be an ongoing thread. Many of us will certainly direct people there, when toys or games come along.

Welcome to the Forum, BaseballGames! I agree with the other comments. Most people here are eager to learn what is not their “wheelhouse” so they don’t pass up something they might otherwise.
    Batter up! :hilarious:

The 1891 series Martha Washington Dollar note is nice. I'd expect it to realize $150 to 200 in a sale to a collector. It is a desirable fairly scarce note. Condition is fairly rough, make sure there are no tears or pinholes since buyers will want a disclaimer.

The 1874 series 25 cent fractional is probably in the $25-35 range since while it is in nice condition it is a very common note.

The 10 cent fractional is unfortunately fairly worthless in this condition due to the substantial tear.

I am late to this, but what great items.
That old canister you showed might sell because of the graphics.

    Thanks for sharing.

I see the original poster of this thread, @Justbrowsing , last logged in on May 5. I hope he/she comes back to see updates!

When I was searching eBay for comparable listings on the antique currency I found the exact same banknotes shown in this thread as a sold listing for $250. If that was the OP I think they did very well in selling them at that price since the pictures were not ideal in determining condition and groupings of currency don't usually get top dollar, better to piece them out usually.
