I was just about to report my findings when I noticed who made it "Tahan of Paris", the bidding on this box hadn't gone high so I waited for a week to see if I could win it. Fortunately I managed to be successful so now I can say what I wanted to report a week ago. No they are not always for gloves, maybe they all had interiors and they have been damaged or lost over the years? Or maybe because this is by a fine maker (cabinet maker to Napoleon) I don't know. Anyway here are some photos of the only one I've seen with a interior for jewellery.[/QUOTE]
