Prehistoric stone tool

    When such tools were made the hitting mostly left tracés, in forms of waves or a bump. And chips.

    Ok then YES many waves. Lots of visible marks where some other tool made this as you can cee on nub.

    What kind of tool would this be? Can you give references?
    If there is a direction i van search for it in my books. But its hard to recognice something in it.

    From image, with this thick wind patine, i can't tell if they are men made or natural damage. Nature can do strange thing with stones and their form.
    Usually it's much easier to recognize...

    They would. They do. I do it myself together with the archeologists.

    That's what bothers me.
    It's numbered. Somebody had some reason to number it.
    But was he wrong? Numbered everything he found before determination? Could even be from a (plain simple) stone collector numbering his collection?
    Or is this really something? ... what i seem to miss? (from my European view)

    I believe I read that they used items like this for cooking. I did watch a video talking about how items were found before the Conowingo Damn was built. He had a large collection that somehow got split up. I will have to go back to see the archaeologist name. And maybe that is why there is a C after number. I'm really more interested than ever.
