<p>
Having just come upon your more recent photos, I looked and thought - the condition of that glass looks like ancient Roman examples I have worked with. Looking at the overall shape, it does look like some medieval examples:</p><p><img src="https://ancienttouch.com/338.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><a href="https://ancienttouch.com/early-medieval_byzantine_migration-period_glass.htm" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://ancienttouch.com/early-medieval_byzantine_migration-period_glass.htm" rel="nofollow">https://ancienttouch.com/early-medieval_byzantine_migration-period_glass.htm</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Oddly, it also looks like a simple version of lamps used in Islamic mosques:</p><p><img src="http://www.vam.ac.uk/__data/assets/image/0006/222846/2006BK4046_mosque_lamp_custom_290x362_06200776.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><a href="http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/articles/e/europe-islamic-mediterranean/" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/articles/e/europe-islamic-mediterranean/" rel="nofollow">http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/articles/e/europe-islamic-mediterranean/</a></p><p><br /></p><p>It is definitely hand made. The irregular mark on the bottom is left by the pontil rod, used to manipulate the molten glass. It is unusual to find such a vessel intact, and it definitely merits some further research. I believe there is a system in England for reporting potentially important archaeological finds?
</p><p><br /></p>
