Googling (no quotes) "plastic pink ceres" is not for the easily offended. :woot::hilarious:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

My guess is some kind of plastic. What kind, I don't know. It does look fairly recent to me, although the silver setting appears to be somewhat tarnished (maybe) so I don't think it's brand new.

Maker of the cameo & maker of the clasp probably not the same company. A general tip: you never see that pebbled background on a hand carved piece. She's very shiny, creating the look of glass, but more likely plastic, something modern, not Celluloid.

No, evelyb pretty well sums up all I would say:

I see no point in obsessing over the exact material; 'man made' is really close enough. Pearls are cerclé freshwater, as stated &, as stated, inexpensive to buy by the strand. Entire construction is cheapest, easiest possible & may be hobbyist work.

    No.

As long as it doesn't become ecdysiastic!

It may already be ecdysiastic, we can only see the cameo girl's face, we don't know what she is wearing, or if she is wearing anything.
    Do you collect uncollectibles?:jawdrop:

Given the age of the design, the original model may be ectoplasmic by now.

You are all wrong. She's made of pink Blancmange. The vile stuff served up at school in the 70s. Give her a wobble.

Wouldn't that be Rosemange, aka Mangy Rose?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

THAT'S JUST where I was looking and thinking the same thing.....
