Featured Papier-mâché Doll Maker

    The only images I found on the web of Schilling dolls have this mark impressed on the back, while mine is ink stamped with Schilling written in what appears to be pen on the back of the cloth body. So, I’m wondering if this is then an early model or a prototype?

    My book shows the inked mark.....1895............

    I'll google later to see if I can find the impressed mark you speak of.

    I can't seem to find the impressed mark you saw.

    Doll makers, just like other manufacturers of different mediums, created several marks.

    Perhaps there is a book on Schilling........you might try at your local library.
