I suppose it’s possible that that mine could have been made previous to the date engraved on them. I don’t think it was uncommon to gift older silver, newly inscribed. I’m not saying I think that’s the case necessarily but it’s possible. It could possibly account for why the time period they were engraved wasn’t as common a time period for their production. I have to admit though that if it wasn’t for the inscriptions looking honest to me that I wouldn’t have guessed these were produced in the 18th century.
