I haven’t seen anything like it in this size. Any thoughts as to its use? Center of a dining room table?&nbsp; Trivet for a buffer/sideboard? My educated guess is that it from the 1920s-30s.</p><p><br /></p><p>It has six very vibrant orange tiles on top. I collect pre-war California pottery, and the orange glaze doesn’t look like anything I’ve seen before.&nbsp; One of the local antique dealers thought it looks like a custom piece created with Catalina tile, but of course thinking every old tile piece is Catalina is a little like thinking every stained glass lamp is Tiffany…of course, it would be cool if it were.&nbsp; The piece is totally unmarked. Each tile is roughly 4” x 4”. It has heft to it.
