I am trying to pin down an origin and age of these dangle silver mesh and cannetille wirework earrings. They are about 1 7/8" high and 7/16" wide. The elongated teardrops are hollow, made of mesh and adorned with dozens of tiny silver balls and coils. I assume it's safe to say this is Etruscan Revival cannetille? And that these pieces were made by hand? The fronts match but one earring has a less complex design on the back (missing one 7-ball flower, with a 4-ball diamond in its place). There is a bit of damage to some of the mesh but it appears all the ornaments are intact. The screw top on one appears to read "Sterling" which surprised me a bit as I expected to see some sort of number or country assay mark. So, anyone have an idea of age and where these were made? I can't imagine the patience and finger skills required to create such pieces. I was challenged enough trying to get clear photos! Many thanks!
