Old wooden tool found in 19th Century Michigan Barn

    @bluumz , Yes, I absolutely was.....but I thought I remembered seeing a unique one like the one showing here.....ON HERE.....quite a long time ago!!!

    I am inclined to believe that this is probably what it is. I may be slightly biased because I am a woodworker, but that was my initial thought. Each successive cutout is about an 1/8" bigger that the previous. Maybe someone was making chairs?

    It does look like a "scutching knife" for processing flax, but I have not found another example with that scalloped edge. Perhaps it had a dual purpose.
