    Sure tastes fresh to me; I'm busily drinking it. Tastes better than "fresh" coffee from the supermarket in fact.

    Starbucks coffee is vile. I buy deluxe ground from Lidl, single variety and use a one cup size French press cafetière.

    If you avoid the chains, you can still get decent coffee for around the 2.50 mark. Place near me does that with an excellent huge bacon bap for about six quid. We’ve some terrific little local cafes, Albanian, Persian and such, excellent coffee. And baklava. Yum.

    There's another big chain here, Dunkin Donuts, that I avoid. They sell dark roast and burn the beans. Starbuck's does too. I buy light roast in self-defense, since the chains count on you adding so much milk and sugar that you can't taste the burnt edge. I drink mine black with nothing.
