[QUOTE="2manybooks, post: 4445596, member: 8267"]I applaud your initiative. But I am skeptical about that explanation. It leaves the "E" unexplained, and 2164 seems like a very odd total production number for a limited edition. This particular version seems to have been produced in 1999, (retired in 2000). One source gives the full part number as "2500QHG2203". For example, if you can find another one where all of the rest of the identification matches - 1999 Murray Inc, 1941 Murray Pursuit Airplane, QHG2203 - and see if it is, say, 400E/2164. Even finding examples such as "2E/1234" and "2E/3056" would help confirm the format suggested by the link I posted earlier - that the E stands for edition and the 4 digit number is the individual unit number. So far, I have found 2E/3970, 3E/4874, 3E/9625, and 4E/8692. The fact that the first number, before the E, is always a single digit would seem to support the theory that that is an edition number, as well as the finding of two labeled 3E.
