Mystery coin silver mark help.

I saw that but didn't think much of it. Thought it was just a rough area. You think it's significant?

 

Doubtful. Just looks like wear to me.

 

Here is the Dublin hallmark table for X. Note the match to 1818. There is nothing else there in the punch besides the letter X.

I did notice that, but wasn't quite sure what it meant!!!

 

Journeymen's marks (sometimes called tally marks) were individual punches of the journeymen silversmiths working for a master's shop - a way of keeping track of the quality and quantity of their work, so they could be properly paid...

The $30 serving spoon weighing about 2.5 OZT was more in my wheelhouse. Beautiful piece though
