My first post! An interesting lighter from Grandpa

He is gone now but my Grandma is still alive and just turned 105!</p><p>My Grandfather held onto pretty much everything related to his time in brewing because he was proud, most people that lived through the depression were, and tough too. When he passed away his Son received the bulk of his collection because he himself stepped into my Grandfathers position at the brewery when he retired. I did however receive some pretty cool Genesee stuff, bottle openers, a beer bottle with his face on it, buttons, ties, etc...all advertising stuff and things to pass on to vendors during the wining and dining they do. I can post pictures of that stuff sometime just to give you guys some more interesting things to look at.</p><p>THE LIGHTER:</p><p>In among the items I received from him was this little baseball bat and I didn't actually discover it was a lighter until years later. As you can see by the images, the tip pulls off to expose the striker, its never been used. I have seen older baseball bat lighters on google but nothing exactly like this, nothing with the Louisville Slugger logo.</p><p>QUESTION:</p><p>Can anyone shed some light on this little lighter or perhaps point me in the right direction? I saw a few sights regarding lighters, none like mine, and wanted to post a question like I am here but in order to post you needed to join and it wasn't free. I like the idea of sharing information freely, sometimes it feels like everyone is out to make a buck! So what do you think this lighter is worth LOL, just kidding, I just want to learn its history. Perhaps my PR Great Grandfather was talking with the H&B Company about a possible collaboration in advertising...I mean baseball and beer is a no brainer, why not a Louisville Slugger in one hand and a Star Peerless brew in the other...maybe?</p><p><br /></p><p>I promise to work on trimming the fat of future posts, my wife just said holy book! there going to ban you!!
