Thanks! Yes, my folks love this, especially my mom. And I love it too. Hopefully we'll find it a great new home where someone else can enjoy it as much as we have all these years.

If you love it why don't you want to keep it? Everyone has wall space for a beloved painting.

LOL! Huge fan being a Jersey girl and all! :) I think it was dubbed an estate sale b/c he was moving houses and downsizing at the time.

That’s hysterical as we call it “peppering”!

Folks are downsizing and we've done all the measurements of all their furniture and artwork and are only taking what fits to make the move easier at their age. It's been very HARD to downsize and make tough decisions about pieces you've enjoyed for so many years, I wish they could take everything. But there's also joy in knowing the history of some of the pieces that have been very special to them b/f they let them go. So I'm very appreciative of all the feedback from this community!!! And hopefully we find great new homes where the art et al will be enjoyed by others for more years to come.

I agree. The faces are so odd and to my eye they do have an Asian feeling. IMO the picture is still charming but has decorative value only. It’s too bad that your parents couldn’t get an estate sale company receipt that it was from Springsteen. Without it, it’s strictly hearsay and his name can’t be mentioned.

I finally was able to get over to get a few pics of the back of the artwork. Posting them here. Any additional feedback/guidance very much appreciated. Thanks. Mom and Daughter Back of Painting 2.jpeg Mom and Daughter_Back of Painting 1.jpeg Mom and Daughter Painting Back 3.jpeg

Unfortunately, the staples are not an indication of age.

Dufner very poor quality copy IMHO. A few thousand for it was a kill! The auction house that sold it must've been really happy. But that's how we buy things: we pay whatever price we think it's worth to pay. Your Mom probably got more than a million bucks of enjoyment, happy memories and more out of it.
(I know I have stuff I paid good money for that others would think "That? Not worth a penny!..." And yet... I wouldn't let go of those for a million bucks either! LOL :hilarious:;))

My folks JUST found the receipt they believe is from this auction for this piece. It states the item as "Oil on Canvas Still Life by Honner". Does the name Honner mean anything? Thanks again for all ur help!

The painting you posted is not a still life; it's a genre scene. I suspect the receipt your parents found is for another work.
