    It's what I would call gadrooning, but I'm not sure that's correct. I think of fluting as concave and gadrooning as convex. Looking at auction catalogs, sometimes it's called gadrooning, sometimes fluting, and sometimes lobed. I don't see what differentiates one from the other. I think if you call it convex fluting, you'll be alright.

    The pattern draws its inspiration from the neo-classical period.
