Featured marble? bird bookends

I loathe sea gulls ! Flying rats,the lot of them ! Once in my young and poorer days my roommate and I were broker than broke. As the young will do,we spent our money on partying and had no food in the apartment. We search couch cushions and car and manage to scrape up $4.wich was enough for a large cheese pizza (Thats how long ago this story is set!) from a walk up stand. We decide to sit at one of their tables outside to eat since we were so hungry ,and right as I flip the box open a seagull drops a big ole splat,right in the middle of our pizza ! We were beside ourselves ! Ive hated them since .That plus one time we watched a flock of them pick off baby ducklings out of a pond.Who knew they are carnivores ?

 

LOL, that's just what ex-DH always called them! I live in a Michigan lake-side town and they are a huge nuisance.

It looks to me as if the black backing is on bookend only. If that is the case, it would be to bring the thickness up to the same as the other. Perhaps a later of stone hacracked of and replace by the black stuff.

 

both got the black backing mate, just for stopping unwanted scratching i would think to surfaces

if that stone was cracked or broken it would need more than that thin layer

 

But how many comedic sidekicks are Knights ?
