Thank you! So great to learn all of this information - loving the history of this. So the actual design of the table comes from the candle stand of the federal period? Sorry to be repetitive, just making sure I understand.

Today, my mother referred to them “pie tables” because of the ornate raised feature alongside the tabletop. She said it resembles a pie crust?
Is that a thing? Pie tables?

Yes - pie crust tables are definitely "a thing."

No, candlestands ended during the Federal period. That's when we stopped using candles for light & switched to oil.

Pie crust tables refer to the edge being carved and resembled a pie crust, popular during the 18th century for tea tables mostly.

Your revival candlestand has what is called a "tray" top because the raised edge resembles a tray.

This "martini" table thing I suspect is more of a marketing term, which is why you are having trouble looking for info.

    Forgive me.

I’ve looked under multiple names for the tables however, did find images of similar items after you told me they were “candlestands.” I’m
having a difficult time finding Information on Mallary Inc. in general. Is it possible that the manufacturer is not mallary? Maybe they have a sticker on them from where they were sold?

Back in post #8, Deborah said that they were only a retailer and not a manufacturer.

Bingo! It's a retailers sticker which has nothing to do with the maker. This kind of thing is common and has been going on since the mid 19th century when furniture was manufactured from machines rather than built by hand.

Right. I assumed she was saying that because I was searching for information on “Mallary Furniture” not “Mallary Inc.” I did not know that insinuated they were not manufactured by Mallary.

    Okay, so please forgive me...
These tables were sold by Mallary Inc. but not necessarily manufactured by them?
I should look for another stamp of some sort?

I would add that better examples of candlestand & tea tables as well were "tilt top" models. A much more difficult build back in the 18th century when this form was popular and more expensive as well.
A short video by Doucette & Wolf who make line by line copies of famous 18th-century furniture.

    i have a harp shaped table, #465 1 1, with a Mallary furniture tag.
can you tell me anything about it?

Welcome, Joseph. Your query will get better attention if you start a thread of your own about the table and add pictures - whole table, construction details and the tag.
