<p>[QUOTE="Ladybranch, post: 241178, member: 44"]There was and still are Highlander Pilsner beer. The highlander pixie character looks like he is holding a pilsner glass. The Missoula Brewing Company made what was called Highlander Pilsner. It seems to be still in operation. Believe it started in c1890. The plaid used on some of their logos was/is red and blue. The pixie on this sign is wearing red, blue & white checks.</p><p><a href="http://www.highlanderbeer.com/history/" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://www.highlanderbeer.com/history/" rel="nofollow">http://www.highlanderbeer.com/history/</a></p><p><a href="https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&hl=en-us&biw=1024&bih=649&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=KqEcWZf_HMLd0gLE8LOwBA&q=antique+%22highlander+pixie%22+beer+sign&oq=antique+%22highlander+pixie%22+beer+sign&gs_l=mobile-gws-img.3...8861.11087.0.11886.7.7.0.0.0.0.129.806.2j5.7.0....0...1.1.64.mobile-gws-img..0.0.0.bvDc6DKB67M#hl=en-us&tbm=isch&q=antique+%22highlander%22+beer+sign" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&hl=en-us&biw=1024&bih=649&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=KqEcWZf_HMLd0gLE8LOwBA&q=antique+%22highlander+pixie%22+beer+sign&oq=antique+%22highlander+pixie%22+beer+sign&gs_l=mobile-gws-img.3...8861.11087.0.11886.7.7.0.0.0.0.129.806.2j5.7.0....0...1.1.64.mobile-gws-img..0.0.0.bvDc6DKB67M#hl=en-us&tbm=isch&q=antique+%22highlander%22+beer+sign" rel="nofollow">https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&hl=en-us&biw=1024&bih=649&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=KqEcWZf_HMLd0gLE8LOwBA&q=antique+"highlander+pixie"+beer+sign&oq=antique+"highlander+pixie"+beer+sign&gs_l=mobile-gws-img.3...8861.11087.0.11886.7.7.0.0.0.0.129.806.2j5.7.0....0...1.1.64.mobile-gws-img..0.0.0.bvDc6DKB67M#hl=en-us&tbm=isch&q=antique+"highlander"+beer+sign</a></p><p><br /></p><p>There is the Highland Brewing Company somewhere in North Carolina.
