Featured Little antique oil painting

I noted the colour difference. But still think the eyes are the best part.

 

It's the rare artist who can get all 4 fingers + the thumb in the same view & not have it look like Mickey Mouse's gloves. One of the reasons the classical masters so often posed figures with the visible hand pointing at something was to get around this.

 

He lived to be how old? If the death year is correct, that would put him in the frame for this painting.

 

He was Dutch, tall and old.
